EFEE LISBOA – ADVANCED TECHNIQUES FOR HIGH VIBRATION REDUCTION (UP TO 75%)

The elemental wave method has been developed in the 1990s, electronic detonators (EDD) as well. Only for ten years, EDD has become a common initiation system and computers are powerful enough to run advanced efficient simulation models to apply this theory. This article reviews the use of the elementary wave principle through case studies. The basic principle of the elementary wave theory in the far field is analyzed and compared with the advanced principle in the frequency domain applicable in the near field.

The document also analyzes the deconvolution theory that allows obtaining a virtual signature hole derived from the vibration record of a complete explosion and can provide a vibration level reduction of up to 75%. Finally, this document uses case studies to demonstrate the benefit of the theory applied in the field.
